This image has a lot of props to it but they don't exactly look like they'll be hard props to get. These images i would shoot all art home as or at my nans because that's where the props would be. I would angle the lightening just right to get the right kind of exposure needed for these pictures because i don't really think this looks too film noir and i don't know if this is a good idea or not but I'm going to try and put my own twist on it, The lighting i would use is angled at only 1 place. The aperture would have be small to get all the details in, the ISO would have to be low as it'll probably be light because it'll be taken during daytime. The photograph is trying to convey a poster advert for a TV series called "Mad men" and it looks like its advertising a new season five of the TV series.
This image doesn't have loads of props, just a hat and a cigarette. I would shoot this image in the studio. I would angle the lightening just to his left. The aperture would be small to get all the details in, the ISO would be low so it only picks up his lit up face. The photograph is trying to convey a poster advert for a film that i believe is called "FILM NOIR". I would face problems in trying to get the person to stay still because i know the lights can get quite hot and cause you to sweat, especially when you have a hat on.
This DVD case advert i would need a prop BB gun for it but that's it. I would shoot the mans face in the studio while the city skyline is barely visible and blurred in the background i would shoot it on top of the car park. The lighting i would use is angled onto his left side of his face but also kind of angled behind him. The aperture would be small to get his face details in, the ISO would have to be low as it'll be in a lit studio. The photograph is trying to convey a poster/DVD advert for a film called "sin city". I would face problems in trying to get the angles of the lighting right as its kind of behind him but also kind of to the right a little bit. I think I would also struggle to find the positioning if the person right.
The last poster needs a hat for a prop and a candle too. I would shoot this image at home on a windowsill. I would just make sure its lit enough to see. The aperture would be small to get all the details in and the ISO would be low because you'd be able to see it. The photograph is trying to convey a poster advert for a film that i believe is called "ARSENIC AND OLD LACE". I would face problems in trying to get the right kind of props and where to get them from and how much they'd cost to buy.
